John was a great athlete but an even greater people person who had a great smile and sense of humor. I had not seen him for quite a few years but have good memories from back in the day. My condolences to his family and brother Jimmy. Rest in peace Dr. Z

Very sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a very good friend. Johnny was an incredible athlete and good person and would always make you laugh. I have many good memories of John. Just like many of us, there are many stories we can't tell, but will at the next reunion when we are with our class, our family. They will understand the stories!!

So sorry to hear of Johnnie's passing. Many great memories from the high school days. The BEST ONE!!! Johnnie's sinking ( Central H.S. vs Lwtn H.S - 1970) of an impossible shot from the corner which went over the one of the top corners of the backboard , banked off the board, and went in at the the buzzer as he fell out of bounce (37-36). I only saw Johnnie a few times after we graduated ( mostly at reunions ) but Johnnie was always good for a laugh. I understand Johnnie's last few years were full of pain and suffering. To the family, all the pain and suffering is gone. Johnnie is physically gone but his spirit lives on.

So sad to hear of the loss of yet another friend and classmate. As we get older, we become more and more aware of the years that have passed since we have last seen those we grew up with. It's hard to lose friends, even those with whom you have lost contact. My sincerest condolences to the family.
